2 full-time DSBN students eligible per subject area, in each Secondary School, selected by teacher (usually students with highest mark in the subject area, must have achieved, or are projected to achieve, on the basis of the mid-term mark, a mark of 85% or better); a student may not write more than 2 DSBN scholarship examinations in any school year. A student taking a course for the second time is not eligible.

Examinations may be written for the following courses: Advanced Functions and Introductory Calculus; Biology; Canada: History, Identity and Culture; Canadian and International Law; Canadian and World Issues: A Geographic Analysis; Chemistry; Computer Science; Dance; Dramatic Arts; English; Exercise Science; Francais, French; Geometry and Discrete Math; Individuals and Families in a Diverse Society; Introduction to International Business; Mathematics of Data Management; Music; Physics; Principles of Financial Accounting; Visual Arts; World History: The West and the World.
