ABOUT US

The Education Foundation of Niagara (EFN) has been established to provide funding for special projects designed to enhance the curriculum, using new and creative approaches for students served by the District School Board of Niagara (DSBN). EFN is an arms-length charity supporting the District School Board of Niagara schools. The District School Board of Niagara is a recognized leader in the provision of quality educational programs to elementary and secondary students throughout the Niagara Region.  The diversity of the Niagara student communities presents many challenges, but by supporting the many programs and initiatives, we are supporting a healthy, vibrant and educated Niagara. The Education Foundation of Niagara is the way to support the community and the future. 

EFN can provide an opportunity for you to participate in many ways, from becoming a "Friend of the Foundation" to signing up for an event, to making a gift to EFN in support of the many causes.  Other fundraising activities, like events, sponsorships, promotional activities, benefits partners and third party events assist in the cause. 

It is not the purpose of the Foundation to replace traditional funding for education, merely to offer support for approaches that supplement what is already provided.

The Board of Directors

Activities are legislated by a Board of Directors comprised of DSBN school trustees, current and retired educators and community members. In January an annual general meeting (AGM) identifies new and returning members through a voting process.

The Executive Director provides the operational support along with a full time Program Assistant and Events Coordinator.  A part-time secretary provides additional assistance, along with students from Niagara College throughout the year.
