Code of Ethics


 

District School Board of Niagara is a member of the Ontario Public Buyers Association Inc. (OPBA) and supports the following that comprise their code of ethics.
These ethics are for all persons connected to or with our agency in any capacity of procuring goods and services. We request that all visitors, guests and vendors comply with these ethics when dealing with our personnel.
OPBA promotes and supports quality purchasing practices among its members to achieve the optimum financial well being for their agency and the public it serves.
Our staff will:
  • Strive for objectivity of judgement in matters of confidentiality, conflict of interest and all decisions
  • Maintain integrity and empathy in all procurement dealings
  • Maintain a high standard of personal professional competence through continuing education and ongoing critical evaluation of their professional experience
  • Work cooperatively with our colleagues other professionals, agencies and members of the community
  • Strive to eliminate any unethical or incompetent behaviour of any colleague or person doing business with our agency
  • Work to ensure that our agency takes advantage of all opportunities for improved purchasing methods through membership in OPBA
  • To support others in the pursuit of these professional goals
