Applewood Athletic Letter

Earning a letter will be a two year process beginning in grade 5 and culminating at graduation in grade 6. It will be an embroidered red and black "A" - size 6 inches.

School Teams:

Students will receive two points for each of their involvements in the different school teams, and one point in any managing/lines person/ or score keeping capacity. To be eligible for the school team points the student must remain on the team for the entire season. To be eligible for a point as a manager/score keeper... the student must be present for the majority of the home games, and work in the desired capacity (the score sheet, the score clock, team stats...).

Each coach must submit a list of players and managers/score keepers... that meet the criteria at the end of the season.

Intramurals:

Intramural points will also be awarded. The student will receive one point for each activity they participate in or help to referee (one intramural is usually 4 sessions long)- either at recess or lunch. This information is kept in the binder and will be updated at the beginning of each month.

Total:

To be eligible for the award a student must have at least ten points in the team category and eight points in the Intramural category.

The total number of points needed to receive the award will be 30.
There are over 100 ways to receive points.

In the event that a student should arrive at Applewood in grade 6, a special program will be implemented so that the student is eligible for the athletic letter.

Program: School teams must total a minimum of 5 points. Intramurals must total a minimum of 4 points. Total points will be 15.
