The District School Board of Niagara runs a program for children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. There is currently one self-contained classroom that uses a range of communication strategies. Our Deaf students communicate and receive instruction using American Sign Language. Our Hard of Hearing students use speech and their residual hearing. All students receive speech therapy if desired by the family. The students will receive an individualized education program with integration into hearing classes where feasible.
