OSAID! |
On October 20th the
OSAID (Ontario Students
Against Impaired
Driving) students of
Centennial put on a
shocking display of what
can really happen while
driving impaired for
NSAID day (National
Students Against
Impaired Driving). They
started with a morning
assembly educating our
students how to prevent
car crashes due to being
impaired while driving
and demonstrating the
consequences through
videos as well as a
speech from our own
previous gym teacher Mr.
Richards who’s been
working as a volunteer
firefighter. During
lunch OSAID had plenty
of activities and
promotions to further
the awareness such as;
sundaes, quizzes, a
raffle for two baskets
donated by Mr. Boyce,
and a breathalyzer test.
Great job spreading the
word OSAID!!!

The Arts
Department would just like to say that they were extremely proud
of all the students who preformed at the Elementary Schools. The

students rose to the challenge. We're very honored to be working
with such talented and giving students.
Want to get
involved with one of our schools bands and ensembles. The music
department is running at least 8 different bands and ensembles
this year, so there's at least ONE perfect one for you! Some of
the bands and or ensembles require an audition and others simply
require your musical desire and dedication.
The Cats
Band

Next weeks

WAYS TO STAY GREEN! |
|
Canadians are
among the heaviest users of energy in the world, on a per capita
basis. By the age of six months, each Canadian has consumed as
many resources as the average person in a developing country has
in his or her lifetime. You don’t have to be in the
environmental club to do your part for the environment. The
environmental club has found out ways to do everyday tasks and
still save our planet. These simple tasks can be done at school,
when shopping, and at home. These things include:
-Turning off
equipment when not in use (including taps and electronics)
-Recycle paper, plastic, glass, and waste. When you recycle one
aluminum can it saves enough energy to operate a TV for 3 hours.
-Using refillable water bottles instead of plastic (it is safer
and cheaper).
-Using containers instead of plastic bags for lunches.
-Buying energy efficient products.
-Use recycled paper. Every ton of recycled office paper saves
380 gallons of oil.
