Ways to Stay Green

Canadians are among the heaviest users of energy in the world, on a per capita basis. And by the age of six months, each Canadian has consumed as many resources as the average person in a developing country has in his or her lifetime. You don’t have to be in the environmental club to do your part for the environment. The environmental club has found out ways to do everyday tasks and still save our planet. These simple tasks can be done at school, when shopping, and at home. These things include:

-Turning off equipment when not in use (including taps and electronics).

-Recycle paper, plastic, glass, and waste. When you recycle one aluminum can it saves enough energy to operate a TV for 3 hours.

-Using refillable water bottles instead of plastic (it is safer and cheaper).

-Using containers instead of plastic bags for lunches.

-Buying energy efficient products.

-Use recycled paper. Every ton of recycled office paper saves 380 gallons of oil.
