Football

.

In Football action on October 7th our cougars played their game under the lights! The Cougars had a strong support team with many fans that fallowed them to the game at Kalar Park under the lights. The cougars  played hard but fell just short of winning the game with a final school of 15-14. Good try cougars!

In Junior Football on October 5th, in Bone-jarring football action, your junior Cougars improved their record to 2-0 as they soundly defeated the Marauders from AN Myer by a final score of 27-13.  The stout Cougar defense was once again front and center, and though they allowed two early scores, they  stiffened up in the second quarter and didn't allow another point.

.

In thrilling football action on October 20th, your Senior Cougars were unable to put away the win against the Westlane Spartans with a final score of 26-22.

On offense, Jon Lue continued his elusive running, consistently making tacklers miss and earning hard yards after contact. Mike Boyd earned a score while Stephen Claus had a TD and a covert with downfield Catches. On Defense, Nick Craig continued his steady play, pushing sweeps to the inside and crushing on the sidelines for big tackles. Dylan Killingbeck played well both ways and remains one of the most reliable cougars.

Unfortunately our Junior Cougars couldn't hold off a late-game drive in their loss to Westlane Spartans with a final score or 13-12.

For Junior Ernesto Ruiz played lights out on the defense like, blowing up plays and earning two sacks while Grade 9 machine Nathan Szabo chased down several outside runs. Todd Robinson played a solid game under centre while Darion Gilbert earned another score following the crushing blocks of Mike Termel.

On October 26th Our Jr. Cougars rallied back from a 21-point early deficit to tie the game up at halftime, but unfortunately the Jr. Cougars were unable to walk away with a win, losing to a final score of 34-21. Through the boys were unable to bring home the championship the coaches were thrilled with the season and would like to thank everyone who was part of the team this year. And for those grade 9's that were interested in playing but didn't come out this year the coaches want to see you  next year! Ask freshmen studs and future superstar like quarterback Todd Robinson, line backer Nathan Szabo, or guard Mike Termel and they will tell you  this was one of the best experiences of their lives. So in 2010 come get some!
