The Library Resource Centre is a vital part of the any school. At Governor Simcoe Secondary we strive to inform, enrich and empower every student in our school community by creating and promoting easy access to a vast array of ideas and information; to provide books and other relevant materials; to ensure access to information sources; to serve our students with expertise and caring assistance; and to instil a love of reading.
The Library Collection is based upon the Ontario Curriculum and includes: Dictionaries, Almanacs, Fiction And Non-Fiction Books, Newspapers, Vertical Files, General And Special Encyclopaedias, Periodical Indexes, and Magazines/Periodicals
Students are issued a library card on a demand basis and may then borrow library materials for a period of two weeks, maximum number of five books at one time. Students should always have their library card when signing out library material.
Students are expected to make good use of their time, to treat library materials with care and to return or renew materials on time. Borrowing privileges can and will be suspended for students failing to meet these obligations. |
