Simcoe Outreach Society

The Simcoe Outreach Society (SOS) is a student based committee that strives to promote awareness and tackle issues that are occurring locally in our community as well as issues that are occurring on a global level.  The committee was started by Miss Lockyer and has the involvement of Mrs. McCardle, Mr. McGinn and Mr. Siczzorco.  The SOS consists of many dedicated students who work together to educate the Simcoe student body on the important issues that face our world and promote a better, safer world.  The SOS started by collecting backpacks, school supplies and clothes to send to the organization that Miss Lockyer worked with in Zambia, Africa.  Over 400 backpacks were collected.  We also ran an assembly on World Pverty Day and collected over $1000 to donate to the Life Campaign to be used to dig wells around the world.  Upcoming events include Christmas activities to benefit the Women’s Place and Community Care and the Walk Away from AIDS.
