Applied vs. Essential - What’s the difference?

  • For courses in English, Math and Science, students at Kernahan Park choose a level of study - either Applied or Essential. All other courses are offered at one level (either Applied or Open).
  • All instruction is focused on meeting the strengths, interests and needs of all learners.
  • Students may register to take all 3 classes at one level or they may combine the levels to best address their learning strengths and challenges.
