Construction and Manufacturing

This program is designed to introduce the student to the many useful and interesting aspects of woodworking and building construction. Students learn the safe and proper use of hand and power tools, the familiarization with the characteristics and uses of common woods, wood finishing and modern construction techniques applied in trades today.

There is a broad range of employment opportunities available within the manufacturing sector. The Kernahan program focuses on welding manufacturing processes. Students will learn about and practice welding and cutting techniques in the fabrication of projects. This course has a strong emphasis on correct and safe work precedures as they aooky ti the welding trade.
