See Mr. Bell if you are interested in playing
The Chess club is a place where new and hardened players get together to enjoy the game of chess. The club is very informal, with members attending when they want. Competition ranges from high-level games between those who have gone to the board wide tournaments to friendly games against novice players. Doubles chess, a strange but entertaining team variant is very common. Their motto, "Accept the Challenge". See Mr. Bell if you are interested!

Kevin defeated some excellent players and showed solid determination in the final sprinted matches. Congratulations Kevin.

Port High's chess team was off to a great start this year. Kevin Guenette placed second in the senior division in the first DSBN tournament for the 2006-2007 year hosted here at PCHS. Over 90 competitors vied for top honours. The other members of the team finished with excellent results. It was the first time PCHS has hosted a DSBN board wide event in many years. Thanks to Mr. Bell and the chess team for hosting what is sure to be an annual event.

The second tournament ( Nov 17 at EL Crossley) saw over 110 participants fighting for top prizes. This time, Eli Dwor placed second in the Intermediate Division. All the other team members showed excellent play and many improved their Chess Canada Rankings. Congratulations Team!
