Students will develop an understanding of the functions of business, including accounting, marketing, information technology, human resources, and production, and of the importance of ethics and social responsibility. This course focuses on marketing activities in the retail and service sectors. Students will examine trends and global influences on marketing decisions, and will learn about the importance of customer service in developing a customer base and maintaining customer loyalty. Through hands-on learning, students will develop personal selling and information technology skills that will prepare them for a variety of marketing-related positions in the workplace.

This course provides students with the opportunity to apply their information and communication technology skills while working in a team environment. Through a project-based approach, students will have opportunities to integrate common business software applications and apply multimedia techniques. Students will further their understanding of electronic business and e-commerce environments.
