Sir Winston Asks -- Do you have questions about the school, a certain subject, or anything mildly school related?  Send your questions to swcasks@gmail.com and we’ll find an answer for you.

 

There will be a short meeting for Junior Badminton in Room 206 after school today. If you want to play Grade 9 or 10 Doubles you need to be at this meeting.

 

Reminder to all members of the string ensemble - there will be a rehearsal after school tomorrow at 3:15.

 

Girls soccer tryouts this week: Tuesday 7am and Thursday 7am!

Robotics: There will be robotics meetings after school every day this week. Our team will be competing in the Aurora robotics competition next Saturday.

Reminder: the next girls soccer tryout is Thursday at 7 a.m.

 

You are all cordially invited to attend a field trip to the Shaw Festival to see a performance of Harvey. Please see Mrs. DiGirolamo in the auditorium or English office for a permission form.

 

Students interested in attending Queen's University for a one week enrichment activity are to meet in the Resource Room today after school for an information package.

 

Boys baseball tryouts will begin next Monday March 8 from 7:45 p.m.-9:15 p.m. in the gym. If you are not able to make this tryout please notify Mrs. Dupuis in guidance. Thanks

 

Robotics: There will be robotics meetings after school every day this week. Be prepared to stay late to get the robots ready for Aurora. A reminder that Aurora trip forms and the second installment for Dallas need to be in ASAP.

 

Pick-up Basketball: There is pickup basketball tonight at 7:45. See you there!

 

Reminder to string ensemble members - rehearsal today after school at 3:15 -4:15 in the music room.

Reminder to ski club members that this Thursday is our full day trip. Be at school for 7:30 a.m.  Our BBQ will be at the base of Mardi Gras at 12:30 and we will return to SWC by 6 p.m.

All robotics teams members going to Aurora this weekend need to come to room 223 after school today.
 

The girls who tried out for the soccer team should check the list that will be posted outside of the gym sometime on Friday. Thanks to all girls who came out and the next tryout for the girls on the list will take place immediately after school on Tuesday March 9.
 

The SWC track and field team will have an organizational meeting on Friday, March 5, at 3:10p.m., in the cafeteria. Competitive categories include midget, junior and senior.

 

Congratulations to our eight OFSAA swimming competitors on their excellent performance this week in Toronto.

Dana Bjorgan, Michal Pasternak, Ron McKenzie-Lefurgey, Evan Vassallo and Chloe Derksen all competed in individual events and the following girls competed in two relays: Chloe Derksen, Talasia Eizenga, Olivia Hubert and Sarah Nartiss.

Special mention to Michal Pasternak who placed 9th in Individual Medley and posted the 6th fastest time in the province.

A very special congratulations to Dana Bjorgan who is the OFSAA Bronze medallist in 50 fly and 8th in 100 Individual Medley.

Overall our team placed 48th out of 248 schools in the province and the girls’ team placed 12th overall in the province.

The coaches, Mme Beaudoin and Mr. Bruschke, would like to congratulate the whole swim team on an outstanding season.

Student Council -- Attention teachers and students.  There will be a buy-out fourth period on Thursday, March 11 to watch an epic basketball battle of staff and students versus the police.  Only the first 11 classes to buy out will witness this major event.  Cost is $2 per student and all proceeds will support Haiti. Bring your toonies to your fourth period class on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Submit your money early to guarantee a spot.

Badminton team--There will be tryouts for Grade 9 and 10 Girls Doubles, Grade 10 Boys Doubles as well as Grade 9 and 10 Mixed Doubles Monday March 8th at 3:15 in the gym. Please sign up on the sheets on Mr. Mouck's door (Room 111)

All rowers and Greece trip students must pick up a permission slip for the swim test on Tuesday. YOU MUST PICK UP A FORM. TODAY! DO IT! Pick them up for your friends who aren't at school.
