Extraordinary Citizen Assignment

 

Definitions:    
Citizenship:
The condition of being vested with the rights and duties as a member of a state or nation.
Extraordinary Citizenship:
Someone who exceeds the standard duties associated with citizenship to significantly benefit individuals, jurisdictions, provinces, countries and/or the world.

Instructions:
Research an extraordinary citizen of your choice according to the definition of extraordinary person provided.
Use the following categories to complete your assignment

Who: In your report identify the person (date and place of birth, and a brief biography - education, special early accomplishments).
Where: In your report identify the location and conditions this person grew up in. Also describe the conditions of the society this person demonstrated extraordinary citizenship in. ( i.e.. war torn, homelessness abounding, inequality)
What:  In your report identify the actions that this person took to be considered an extraordinary citizen. Identify the organization this person was involved in and its aims.
Why#1: In your report identify the reasons this person acted as they did. What motivated them to step beyond the regular duties assigned to citizens?
Why #2: In a five sentence paragraph identify the reasons (three) this person meets or exceeds the standard of an extraordinary citizen.

Remember to list the sources of research used to complete this assignment. (minimum of three)
Book: Title and author and ISBN, Internet site: Address and date and time visited, Magazine/Newspaper: Title, date and page article is featured on, Video: Title, TV. Program: Channel, program name, date and time, Interview: Name of person, questions asked , time and date.
