Students use the electronic version of the DSBN Course Calendar to select secondary school courses; which match OSSD requirements, and their career paths, for their entire secondary school experience.

Students select a career path based on their interests, skills, and values using electronic self-assessment tools (Mazemaster, Career Cruising, Choices, Job Futures).

Students identify what activities they will involve themselves in to prepare effectively for their selected careers.

(Academic courses, Co-curricular, Cooperative Education, Volunteering, Part Time Work, Certificate programs).

Students regularly review the latest career information using various electronic sources (Career Currents, Canada Prospects, Job Futures, Career Gateway).

Students complete a Resume and Cover Letter according to a format which is highly effective.

Students are prepared for success in interview situations.

Students use an electronic version of the Conference Board of Canada Employability Skills document to identify and develop team work and personal management skills.

Students report on the role of family, self-confidence and peer pressure on career success.
