Project Outline

Each student will be required to present information on one career area or occupation.  Through this comprehensive package of tasks, students will demonstrate that they have achieved the course expectations. In addition, students will have information that can be included as part of their Annual Education Plan.

Project Description

The project will include:

Format of the Project

Static Display

Each student will be responsible for producing a static display to highlight his or her chosen area.  These displays can be in the form of a poster, a collage, or a display that can be viewed by other members of the class as they walk about the classroom. For students in an elearning format, researched information can be presented as a Corel/ Power Point Presentation or on a web site.

Oral Presentation

Each student will make an eight to ten minute presentation to the class outlining the main features of their chosen career area.

Written Report

Each student will submit a written report (three to five pages) that will take the form of a comparison between the skills, characteristics, and qualities of the selected career and their personal skills, characteristics, and qualities.

Data Sheet

Each student is to prepare a one-page summary of their chosen area for distribution to the rest of the members of the class.  All members of the class should store these data sheets with their notes.

Presentation Schedule

In the third last week of the course, students will complete the research and preparation of presentations and displays. During the last week of the course, five to six students per day will set up their displays and make their presentations.
