This co-ed focus
course helps students develop a personalized approach to performance enhancement
and healthy living. Students are introduced to the benefits of weight training,
nutrition, sports psychology and leadership in an enhanced athletic setting.
An outdoor education component is added to the course that will help students
develop necessary skills for camping, hiking, canoeing and outdoor survival.
Students will also study the components of healthy relationships, reproductive
health, mental health, and personal safety. Also included in this course
are non-traditional phys. Ed activities such as ice skating, roller blading,
biking, x-country running, beach volleyball and other. |

Exercise Science - University Preparation |

This course focuses
on the study of the human movement and of systems, factors, and principles
involved in human development. Students will learn about the effects of
physical activity on health and performance, the evolution of physical activity
and sports, and the factors that influence an individual’s participation
in physical activity. The course prepares students for university programs
in physical education, kinesiology, recreation, and sports administration. |
