WELLAND — This was one day at school where the same question had many different answers.
Justice Gamble likes the creative aspect of hair cutting enough to consider it as a future career.
That did not prevent the Grade 7 Empire School student from admiring the skills of mason Marino Cecchini when she attended the Trade Awareness event held Thursday at the Niagara Regional Exhibition ground’s main building.
Plymouth School’s Simon Johnston and Dylan Pearce were interested in Eastdale Secondary School’s culinary arts program, but Cody Fraser, of Gordon School, was more interested in the Armed Forces.
For students who attended, the event opened up new career paths by offering them a chance to ask questions of mechanics, engineers, chefs, stylists, electricians, welders, pipe fitters, millwrights, carpenters and a bevy of other skilled trades people. Read the full Tribune Article here!

Eagles Begin to Soar

Eastdale's win streak in senior girls high school basketball was short-lived, though not for the lack of trying on the part of the Eagles.
After downing the visiting Jean Vanier 38-21 the day before for the school's first victory in two years, Eastdale nearly repeated the feat yesterday against the Stamford Eagles in Niagara Falls.
"It came down to fouled who first -- we were both in bonus -- but, unfortunately, they made their shots first," Eagles head coach Erin Kelso said after a 36-36 loss in a triple-overtime nailbiter. Read the full Tribune Article here!
