WRITING AN OPINION PIECE

Task

Write a series of paragraphs expressing an opinion on the topic below.  Develop your main idea with supporting details (proof, facts, examples, etc.

 

Audience

Business Owners

 

Question

Should business employees be allowed to go on personal websites, eg. facebook, games etc, during work hours?
 

Length

One keyed page using a Times New Roman font sized 12.  Set your line spacing to 2 to double space your document.

Include an appropriate title and use a footer for your handin information as usual.

First Paragraph

State your opinion and give 3 reasons for it.

 

Middle Paragraph(s)

Expand on the reasons stated in your stated in your first paragraph.  Use as many specific facts, examples and proof as you can.  Use a separate paragraph to develop each argument/topic.

 

Last Paragraph

Conclusion.  What will happen if your advice is followed?  Use the reasons from paragraph one.
