PRESENTATION TIPS

  1. Be prepared.  Know your topic so you can avoid reading everything from notes.  Prepare speaker's notes if you don't know your topic well enough to speak without them.

  2. Rehearse your presentation in front of friends or family or just with you and your partner.

  3. Be sure there are no spelling errors in your slide show.

  4. Have a clear voice and project your voice so entire class can hear (be don't shout).

  5. Don't speak too quickly.  If you think you're speaking too slowly you're probably speaking at a good pace.

  6. Avoided awkward pauses, slang and “um’s”.  Take a breath instead of saying um.

  7. Make eye contact with all areas of your audience.

  8. Appear confident (even if you are nervous).

  9. Do NOT chew gum.
