INDENT STYLES 


 

1.         From the O:\BTT Handouts drag the file called IndentStyles.wpd to your M: Drive.  Open the file and format as follows.  Save early, save often, save grief.

 

2.         Set L/R margins to 1.25" (3 cm).

 

3.         In proper format add the title – Indent Styles

Bold, italic the title and change it to 18 point.  Set its appearance to shadow--format menu > font ...

 

4.         Use the tab key to tab in the first line of the first 4 paragraphs.

 

5.         Currently there are 5 side headings in uppercase (TAB, INDENT, DOUBLE INDENT, HANGING INDENT, BULLETS). 
Set each of them to mixed case (select text > edit menu > convert case...). 
Underline the side headings and delete the punctuation at the end of each of the side headings. 
These are standard rules for formatting side headings.

 

6.         Each paragraph discusses a different indent style. At the start of each paragraph press the appropriate keys to indent the style discussed.
 

    

     Indent = F7

     Hanging Indent = Ctrl F7

     Double Indent = Ctrl Sh F7
 

 
  1. Use bullets for the last 2 paragraphs, those in the bullets section (select text > bullet tool OR insert menu > bullets &  numbering.)

 8.     Hand-in info > Pre-print checklist > Final Save > Close file.
