Part 2
Activities

In this section use full sentences to provide specific information on all the activities you were involved in. Remember to include pictures,

Example beginning: One of the activities I did on a regular basis was critical to the safety of the clients/patients in the clinic. After each surgery I had to make sure the animals who had received anaesthesia were waking up according to a schedule that was appropriate for that type of animal, species. If the animals were really groggy or unresponsive after the anaesthesia, I would have a protocol to follow which would end with an alert to the veterinarian .

Part 3
Skills Acquired

In this section you will identify the skills you acquired or improved upon during your cooperative education placement. ( minimum of 3 )

Example beginning: Strangely enough in this highly technical and science based context the skills that I developed most were verbal and non-verbal communication. In one situation I had to help explain to members of a family that their pet would not be able to go home with them. They were visibly upset with the news although on the surface they were saying that everything was alright. Responding to the physical signs of their anxiety I began asking questions ( ‘Does your pet have a favourite toy that I can give to her while she is here or are there any special things I can do’) and I could tell that they  became more comfortable with the situation.

Part 4
Summary

In this section students will identify how their cooperative education experience will have a positive impact on their career.

Example beginning: Following my success at my cooperative education placement I have decided to continue pursuing being a veterinarian technician. There are many challenges in terms of the workplace and the educational requirements, however I am very passionate about providing proper care for animals. ....
