You are to
create a Combination Logo that reflects YOU. A "Combination" logo
is one that includes your name or

and a symbol. The logo is to
symbolize your positive attributes--you are promoting yourself!
This is an individual project,
not a team project. You must work alone on this one.

Procedure:
- Step 1:

- Brainstorm at least 5 words to describe you.
They can be positive attributes that you
possess, eg. generous, studious, outgoing and/or your interests, eg. music,
volleyball, dance etc. Type your list in WordPerfect
then
pick one or two that you will reflect in your logo.
- In order to generate logo ideas, search
online for Combination Logos,
ie. logos that contain a symbol and name or
symbol and initials. Copy/paste
5 logo samples into WordPerfect.
- Add an appropriate title at the top of this
document and type your name under the title. Print and have your concept approved before continuing to
Step 2.
- Step 2:
Form
- Part A:
Preliminary Sketches
- Your logo must include a symbol
and your name or your initials. It
must be clear even when sized to 1 inch, so don't make it too complex.
- Hand draw 4 preliminary sketches
in your notebook. Put them all on one page to force yourself to make
them clear when small. Either colour them or indicate with labels
what colours you will use.
- Put a star beside the
one you have decided is your
best.
- Have your sketches approved by your
teacher before continuing.
- Part B: Variations
- For the one design
that you have picked above, hand draw 4
VARIATION sketches.
Sketch all 4 on one page. Either colour or
indicate with labels the colours you will use.
- You will now have your
original choice as well as 4 variations
of it.
- , decide which will be
your final design. indicate
- Part C: The
Product
- Out of all
8 of your sketches
decide on your final choice,
the one that you have chosen as your final design; the one that you will
create in Corel Draw.
- Colour this sketch.
- Resubmit for approval
all sketches, with your final choice coloured.
- Step 3: Content--Your
Final Logo
- In Corel Draw, create your final design logo.
- Make it no more than 2" by
2" (5 cm x
5 cm). An easy way
to do this is to draw a 2" x
2" square (5 cm x
5 cm) > line up your
guidelines to this square > delete the square > now you have your workspace.
- Save the file as yourlastname-logo
